Simple design, yet a remarkable impact as shown in this great set of photos by Fernando & Sergio Guerra for this House in Melides, Grândola, Portugal by Pedro Reis. I love just about any of FG+SG photography work. Their large skies and high contrast exterior is kind of a trade mark. There is much to learn from this set as well as an interesting story behind the design of this house that was done in a way of architectural competition among three offices.
You almost never find a set of images for a house with such a big focus on the grass lawn. This wood covered house by Atelier st was photographed in a way that gives the grass a big respect and I like it… it serves as a very good reference for composition and lighting of such elements. Very cool!
I love wood facade houses, and this refurbishment project by Jackson Clements Burrows Architects is a fine example. The textures mix of wood, grass & water is absolutely great – even more so in the night images, with the light propagation over the lawn.
Great looking house by Debbas Architecture and photographs by Nic Lehoux & Cesar Rubio. I especially like the dusk images (what a surprise!) and the minimal profile towards the entrance street that hides the big sloping downward house. The choice of materials is very interesting and creates a very unique looking house – a great reference for the combination of metal cladding, concrete, wood and glass.
A lovely house on a sandy site overlooking a sea / lake in the Netherlands by Grosfeld van der Velde Architects. This is a great reference for how sand looks like and you can find additinal day and dusk images including some wide panoramas showcasing the near surroundings of the house.
Yet another very unique house, following the lines of the previous Cape Schanck House by Jackson Clements Burrows, though much smaller. Cantilevering over the car approach and exhibiting a very nice mixture of concrete, wood and glass overlooking a natural landscape by day and night.
