Patric Verstraete recently published his latest work for VEELAERT ARCHITECTEN’s Astridhof Residence project, showcasing extensive environmental work to achieve similar look to that on site without relying on photography. Viktor Nassli shares two interesting animations created for Messana ORorke Architects – The Phoenix and Vieques House. This is a great example of a pragmatic and design driven approach to making an animation under short deadlines. Instead of going for just a few stills, they add a maquette-like style animation with the stills merged in as if camera snapshots were taken. Sound also plays a big part here!
The Eames House is widely considered as one of the great buildings of the 20th century. Also known as the Case Study house 8, this beautiful piece of architecture was constructed in 1949 using only prefabrication and off-the-shelf materials. Sava Zivkovic recently published his personal animated short where he tried to capture the essence of the house. This project of his is in many ways a case study of its own, and the making of it is kindly being shared by him here. Enjoy!
I first saw Efim Armand’s NYC TAXI scene during the CityLIFE challenge. He did not get a chance to complete this on time but his remarkable work could not go unnoticed, and I wanted to learn more about how he went about creating this little chunk of NYC and letting a taxi run wild inside it. Efim was very kind to put it into words in the form of this making-of article. Enjoy!
