House for Mother by Javier Rueda

“House for mother” is a house that balances spatiality with intimate rooms – formal simplicity with strong materiality. The facade in raw corrugated aluminium creates a variable play with light and shadow during the day, a rich materiality contrasting with it’s simple expression. The wooden beams and trusses along with the walls lined with plywood give warmth to the interior. The concrete floor is folded to a low bench along the perimeter of the building.

I tried to capture this materiality and simplicity in some CGIs while learning from the real world. I realised that this is the best exercise that I can do for improving my skills. Basing on a real photo you can always discover new details that give more realism to your image.

For the exterior image I tried to express this lonely mood that you sometimes can feel in the earliest time of the day.

The real photos can be found in Archdaily and Förstberg Ling practice websites.

Hackney Shed by Uzoka Melvis Chukwuemeka

I used only 3dsmax and Corona Renderer for this piece. Textures are all hand painted and this is the raw render with no post processing done. No HDRI image. Lighting was achieved with a number of lights in the scene. The books are also handpainted as well as the text on them. Textures were hand painted using Photoshop and some textures using Blender 3d painting feature. Viewport Canvas (3dsmax painting feature) was also used for hand painting textures.

Lights by Laurentiu Stanciu

The challenge was to illustrate a secret garden. I thought that besides the location, the garden has to keep some real secrets. In many traditional cultures there is the symbol of the tree, center of everything (universe, world, axis mundi etc) so I made it ‘tree of life’ literally. The Light, souls, unborn child’s, maybe knowledge if we force the sense. The surrounding environment it’s meant to emphasise the center piece.

Düsseldorf by PRIM3D

First things first – someone once said.

It won’t be polite if we didn’t introduce our self first. PRIM3D is Skopje (Macedonia) based design and production studio formed in 2016 by 3D artists and architects.

LET THEM series

The series “LET THEM’ is our campaign for reaching to potential clients. Through the series we show how can virtual reality open new possibilities to real estate.
Every project that is part of the campaign is available on multiple platforms including VR (Oculus and HTC Vive).
Giving the customers opportunity to customize the space will make them more confident in their decision of purchasing their new real estate.

Düsseldorf

This project is representing office space giving opportunity to change the mood of the scene with different colors and materials for the walls, floor, furniture and interactive lights. Navigation through the scene can be done with walking or drone mode.

You can check other interactive elements in the walkthrough of this project.

The workflow starts with an architectural floor plan that is later imported and processed in a 3D software. After all the initial preparations are finished and all the required assets are made the project is transferred to Unreal Engine.

The pictures shown below are edited in Photoshop to display the interactions that can be made in the scene.
