Orchard Jenga

Image is part of the architecture studio submission in Monash University, Melbourne, Australia.

To cope with urban heat island effect and lacking trees canopy coverage in cities cramped context, on top of the existing two-level car park, Orchard Jenga proposed to plant not only trees but editable vegetations vertically which cast healthy shadow for open public space underneath and produce organic fresh foods for the nearby Queen Victoria Market by applying the technology from adjacent University of Melbourne research centre. Covered by the transparent water tank, the unique facade allows semi visual connection from in and out by acoustically reflecting and refract the light when it passes through, standing out as an environment protect sign without a word.

YUG

Extreme attention to detail is what makes this project stand out. Restaurant is segmented in to four major areas open kitchen with atrium area, fireplace room, banquet hall, and Sea view terrace. Most of the furniture, lighting fixtures and chandeliers were designed specifically for this project. Each area has a unique design futures and mood in to it, nevertheless one could clearly see a conceptual bound that makes this project complete. Floor plans were designed as an open space with intuitive interconnected passages. Even though restaurant was designed with a distinctive stylistics as a whole, each space has its unique identity and features.

Urban barn house

Like a peaceful, calm oasis, sits this old beautiful barn house in the middle of a new modern urban block in Utrecht, Netherlands. It has served many purposes during its long existence. But now is the time to rise once again and bring the citizens of Utrecht a new urban space with great opportunities of use. Including a kindergarten, park with playground, restaurant or urban living…

I had the pleasure to pixelate the idea behind this beautiful design of Studio PUUR NL from Breda. And here is the result! I hope you enjoy these images. I sure did enjoy making them.
