Urban Blue Zone

There was a big tender In Utrecht (The Netherlands) for a big area between 2 rail tracks. It had to be filled with a lot of housing and some retail. Mecanoo asked us to make the visuals of their design. The visuals needed to have this summerish feeling. The concept of Mecanoo referred to the so-called Blue Zones. Areas where people will live longer and healthier. Something that should be reflected in the visuals.

Lake House

The house is planned to be a 1 level construction and the main desire is to catch the views from the lake, in order to achieve that, the site was needed to be elevated approximately 9 feet above the initial level. The materials and finishes in this project are mainly from the area and a certain balance is always taken in consideration. High ceilings, open spaces and great views are few of the qualities of the house.

Close-Up (Light)

When I started thinking about the project I decided that I wanted to focus on a project that would force me to improve my skills, texturing, lighting, modelling, etc.
Therefore, I decided to guide my project to scenes where the objects were very close to the camera so the textures have to work at the highest level.
As a second objective, I wanted to convey to the viewer the sensation of seeing a temporarily uninhabited house, like a holiday home. Here I wanted to transmit stillness and coldness with light, and a dusty environment.
I decided to avoid any objects in motion, forcing me to give all the prominence to the light. Given the short delivery time, I decided to leave that for postproduction.

For modeling I used 3d studio max.
For basic textures and lighting, vray and for the final textures Substance designer.
For postproduction, NukeX.
For final editing and rendering, Premiere Pro.
For cloth, Marvelous designer.

As in all my projects, modelled, textured and lighted 100% by me.

I hope you enjoy it and tell me, if you want, if I have achieved my goals.
