This book is one of my favourite stories, so I decided to create a series of images based on it. This is the first one, that depicts the scene where the main character Aomame, meets the Dowager, a very poised and elegant lady that occasionally hires her to kill men who have been abusive to women, as a way to fight back against domestic violence.
The Dowager lives in the Willow House, that also has an attached glass garden house where she collects rare butterflies. This is how I have imagined that place
