Absence – Real-time Animation – Eevee and Blender

“Architecture speaks when it’s part of the life and death of their guests.
Even when the absence takes place, houses have a lot to say.”

I tried to render this scene using Cycles, but it took a lot for each frame. I tried a render farm but it was so expensive, so I thought I may use the new blender real-time renderer.
This was the result.

100% Blender and Eevee

30 seconds per frame on average

Loft JD interior

This is a project that I tried to visualize the interior of Loft JD, designed by Bruna Pires. I loved the design and the cozy feelings that materials and lighting bring to the interior.

Original design: https://www.archdaily.com/898823/loft-jd-bruna-pires

The completed renders are done in Blender, which is an open software that can create amazing render, and the built-in Cycles renderer.

I used fSpy to determine the perspectives, materials mostly are from Poliigon library, rendered with Cycles in Blender

Orange and Teal Living Room

A set of renders for a luxurious modern apartment that uses orange and teal as an integral part of its design.
The majority of the textures are from Poliigon. The books on the shelf are set to each have a random cover to prevent repetition. The models are from a variety of sources, including 3DSky, Vizpeople, CGMood, and Poliigon.

Extruded House

A CG remake of Extruded House designed by MCK Architecture & Interiors. I wanted to practice exterior rendering and lighting. This one was great for that purpose as it required me to model both interior and exterior and combine them later which sometimes was challenging due to hardware limitations.

Craft Labolatory

This time I want to introduce one of the most interesting colaborations with an architect and designer Wojciech Losa from Katowice, Poland.

I wanted to reflect character of the project showing it in varied moments and stories.
The visulisations which I was willing to create needed to use the exact same language as Wojtek’s projet – direct and specific one, without dispensable chatter.

The Nest

‘The Nest’ is a Flamingo Observatory proposed by NUDES in Abu Dhabi as a part of the Famingo Observatory competition by Bee Breeders. The Nest celebrates the unique and diverse ecosystem of the Al Watbha Wetlands in Abu Dhabi particularly the flamingos that visit the area.

From the visualization side, the main challenge was creating the vegetation. The wetlands had a unique set of vegetation and part of communicating the design well consisted of building the landscape in 3D close to the real site. I identified 3-4 types of plants and did a few variations for each of them and finally scattered them on the landscape using particle system.

The entire scene is pretty much 3D except for the sky and the trees at the back.
