It is a modified version of the Villa Barbaro in Italy. I chose this building almost on a whim while browsing around, but when I settled into it I really fell in love with the design. The villa was ultimately redesigned after a place I would like to live. I wanted to keep a lot of the look of the exterior, but I heavily modified the back of the villa to fit my own ideals. I imagine this is the type of place you could bring your family and stay for a week to take a break from the modern city life. It would be a place where you could come and pick your own grapes, and learn to make your own wine during your stay. I thought of children, and if they participated, how they would come back to the villa in their later years and enjoy the wine they made in their childhood. It’s a very sentimental thought, but I enjoy it. Ultimately I view the vineyard as a retreat, a way to enjoy the lush nature one cannot so easily find in the city.
