Time is important, so keep going with the things you know for sure, in this case the museum; with no measurements it was a bit tricky but the blueprints did their work.
Here i shared my 3d model, i start to model the visible faces that are very important for my scene. Next step, I have test lighting and i will be modeling the site!.. then, i have testing materials,composition!..
Upon checking the documentation provided, I started building the model of the main subject of the image using the plans and photographs as reference, getting familiar with the building. Once the main building was nearly done, I started testing composition and lighting, with ideas of reflections and warm and cool lights contrast in mind. Next step will be modeling the remaining part of the museum and texturing it, before fleshing up the environment a bit.
The connection of weathered building and modern yet modest design inspired me to search for a view which will reflect both – Byttan and the museum. While maintaining focus on entrance and entire museum, a window with iron bars will be reflecting the old building’s 30’s style.
For the light, I will go with early dusk, it will hit side facade, showing nice reflections and details. Illuminated windows will enhance the composition.
For the landscape, I want to emphasize the main entrance by a strong but natural looking path and a playful human character moving towards the museum.
I started this project with a good understanding of the building. I quickly put together the info, plan and sections just to get a sense of the structure. I found that the details been given in the website is great help in term of achieving most realistic possible. I will start exploring concept and composition soon before proceed to modeling work.
