Below are some of the WIP concepts exploring the lighting and possible compositions.

The Sun’s position and the way the light interacts with the tree line is vital for the mood I’m am trying to create. Some simple considerations, like reducing the number of leaves in the trees, and focusing on the translucency of the leaf material help create the interesting shadows on the ground and sun shafts.

I am still undecided whether I will incorporate water in the foreground. This will require a wider crop and as a result the museum becomes less of a focus, therefore I will probably try two approaches and then make a decision on which is visually stronger.

Final concept to follow….

I wanted to work on some Exterior but I never succeed in completing first step, and this Challenge is a perfect to test myself about how long I can go.

I started with collecting many references as possible to reach my goal, then modeled the MAIN building, basic roads, and other props.Did some material test too, I’m still working on it heavily hope I can make to the submission.

This is a difficult very open challenge with many interpretations. I would like to try something reminiscent of the original site.

I am going to be original thanks to “Only the building has to follow the architect’s plans”. This is a great opportunity to try something different and be a little crazy, like changing the restaurant for a lighthouse….it’s going to be a lot more fun 🙂

I am going to play with the mood and magic of the blue hour light and the sea coast atmosphere.
I always appreciated the foggy blue and the warm lights breaking through it.

I would like to emphasize the inner qualities of the building, its simplicity, and its tectonics by playing with the contrast of the black and white.

After the understanding of the project I follow with the artistic part and the choice for the frame, color palette and which part of the project will be show in my entry.

After the mood and the artistic things I continue with the technical part.

First modeled the building and the restaurant, then the atmosphere and finally the vegetation.
After having the building continued with the framing for the camera and composition of the scene. I really like the landscape frames so I decided one for my image, I think it is more dynamic and more friendly for a passive story and a snow mood.

Before the postproduction I wanted to do some tests with some materials like the snow or the facade of the building, as well as the colors of the different lights and their intensity.
