See Entries & Join! About ConvertedThe 7th Architectural Visualization Challenge I’m running in partnership with Quixel as the marquee sponsor. The book CABINS by Philip Jodidio and the fantastic illustrations by Marie-Laure Cruschi served as the principal inspiration for this year’s challenge theme. That, and my love for prefab architecture design.

I just wanted to submit my VR images and have to say I really liked this challenge and I can’t wait for the next one. Thanks Ronen for organizing it and to all of the sponsors for helping making it possible.

This is my final entry. I had a lot of fun with this project and I have been working on it consequently since the beginning of the challenge. In the end, I have made 18 renderings (some more complex, other ones focusing on the details or being some kind of trivia stuff) + 3 spherical renderings.
My cabins are placed in Icelandic Thórsmörk but I made several different scenes to show various aspects of the place (from quite barren hills to lush woody areas). The cabins themselves are formed as white ephemeral monoliths, contrasting with the organic surrounding and being something between the reminiscence of the ancient dwelling built around the fireplace and the idea of Nordic gods standing in the row on a mountain ridge.

I cannot fit all the images in one .zip file so I’ll continue posting them here in the comment section.
I wish the best luck to all the participants!
Alright, this is my final entry, I just got a new born baby and he left me with no time at all. As you might notice, my design is not too crazy since I’m actually planning to build this to escape from the crampedness of my small apartment.

This is my final entry. As I wrote in the first one, the goal for me, besides creating good quality pictures, was to use this challenge as a motivation to learn Unreal Engine. For me it was also the first time working with Megascans to this extend.
I made two 360 panoramas that show the cabin from two different perspectives. The Tower Studio was designed by Saunders Architecture and it is located on the Fogo Island. I tried to make both panoramas very different from each other and show not only how the building’s shape changes according to where it’s seen from but also how much the island’s landscape can vary.
Additionaly I made a couple of screenshots that show some interesting details. I didn’t do any post processing in Photoshop, all pictures and the panoramas are straight from Unreal Engine.
It was a great learning experience for me and I think I am quite happy with the results. I am still a beginner with Unreal but I think I managed to touch it’s potential and will continue learning it.
Thanks to Ronen for the challenge, I had a lot of fun.
Part 4 of showcasing my mostly final images.
This is the last part before setting up the final entry. I want to thank everybody participating and commenting as well as Ronen and all the sponsors for organizing the challenge.
I wish a lot of endurance to everybody finishing their works in the last days. And best luck!
