The 7th Architectural Visualization Challenge I’m running in partnership with Quixel as the marquee sponsor. The book CABINS by Philip Jodidio and the fantastic illustrations by Marie-Laure Cruschi served as the principal inspiration for this year’s challenge theme. That, and my love for prefab architecture design.

Wudang Mountains is the famous mountain of China, the birthplace of Chinese Taoism, the famous philosopher Lao Tzu in ancient China is the creator of Taoist thought. Wudang Mountains is not only a sacred place, but also a wonderful landscape, so it is a great choice to set up the holiday cabin here.

Pinterest Board and Inspiration.
I’m sharing my inspiration here so you can see where my imagination has taken me.
It is not enough to just jump into 3D and hope something comes out. Does a painting paint itself? does a building design itself? No.

Concept Description.
You’re standing on a causeway. The tide is out.
The sun is about to set and everything is vibrant.
You see a very small island just off shore.
An easy stroll across the rock pools and sand.
You approach the island.
A sandy path meanders up and around to the left.
Flowers line the path and you hear birds and crickets.
As you round the corner you find a bay.
Nestled on the far side is a Cabin.
Your Cabin.
She sandy beach, swaying grass and brilliant sky frame the cabin perfectly.
After a short walk you arrive on the deck looking out over the ocean.
Seagulls. The gentle sound of waves. Beautiful.

Next up. Concept Sketches.

Each of us in the end will be to blame for what will happen to our planet after us. Someone more, someone less. Nevertheless, the hyper consumption of resources and the production of unnecessary things for entertainment lead to many irreparable situations with the ecology and the general state of the Earth. My project can`t be called unique and it looks like an ordinary house. But it is based on an old house made of wooden beams and clay – built in 1920 and survived in WW2. In fact, this eco-housing that I modernized. It is located in the Kiev region. Ukraine. I knowingly chose my country as a location. Cos there is a beautiful nature and our country needs such projects, because the villages in my country unfortunately fall into decay. Urbanization leads to overcrowding of large cities and pollution. So this project is a call to humanity – to return closer to nature, love it and be a part of its ecosystem. Project – of green energy, and completely autonomous.
