The 7th Architectural Visualization Challenge I’m running in partnership with Quixel as the marquee sponsor. The book CABINS by Philip Jodidio and the fantastic illustrations by Marie-Laure Cruschi served as the principal inspiration for this year’s challenge theme. That, and my love for prefab architecture design.

I started modelling in 3ds max by using my construction drawings as a reference.
After I finished the small cabin, I mapped the model in order to use it in substance painter.

I used substance painter to add details like screws etc. to the low-poly model.
The props like the mattress and pillow were created with modifiers in 3ds max and additional creases were made with the Corona material shader.

For the first test-renderings in Corona I was looking for an HDRI with a similar environment and light mood like the reference scene in the desert.

As a next step I will finish the texturing for the small cabin and the props. Afterwards I will continue with modelling some rocks for the environment.

Hi. I have nearly lost this project when my disk broke down last week but I managed to rescue the files in the end and it keeps rolling. I have already set up 8 scenes (only exteriors at the moment) and I am merely uploading the viewport perspectives at the moment.

Hi guys. This is a project for the reconstruction of an old destroyed house in the village of Svanitiya in the Georgian Alps. This idea came to me a year ago, when I was resting in Mestia. When I walked through the village, I saw an old house that had been razed, which is located in a very beautiful place on a cliff.
I thought about how it is possible to unite modern architecture and ancient traditions in one project.
