The 7th Architectural Visualization Challenge I’m running in partnership with Quixel as the marquee sponsor. The book CABINS by Philip Jodidio and the fantastic illustrations by Marie-Laure Cruschi served as the principal inspiration for this year’s challenge theme. That, and my love for prefab architecture design.

At this point in the project the cabin remains a conceptual idea, organized by a simple diagram that suggests a basic form to connect its occupants to the land, sea and sky. The cabin wants to be situated in a northern latitude to take advantage of the diverse and dramatic landscapes these biomes have to offer.

The images so far represent inspirational forms, landscapes and color palettes that will continue to inform the next phases of work (landform modeling + cabin massing).

I’ve modeled walley with gulf and a few mountains for background. Honestly I’m fan of truth geomentry insteade of displace or image on back. Espesially for 360 degrees view. So next step is collecting cabin and landscape and adding vegetation.

PS I used World Machine software.

This is a narrative driven design about a cabin for a man who doesn’t desire to be part of society. This is about being happy about being alone and the struggle that others feel about choices that family members make.

Hello everyone !
The main Idea comes from a feeling I had once I was in the Sahara by night and the view I saw was extraordinarily awesome. The sky was so clear that we can see the space and all the stars and celestial bodies with the immensity of the universe so obvious.
My project (which is a group of cabins) will serve as a vacation destination for people who want to visit the sahara (or any other desert) and feel the greatness of the universe and the smallness of our travelling planet throught VR technology.
The challenge is to technically be able to create this desert environment and find the new skills needed to do so in a relatively short time.
Finally I’d like to ask you how do you find this idea ? I will be glad to have any ideas or any thaughts that could help.
Thank you – And thanks Ronen for this Opportunity
