The book CABINS by Philip Jodidio and the fantastic illustrations by Marie-Laure Cruschi served as the principal inspiration for this year’s challenge theme. That, and my love for prefab architecture design.

i started by drawing and rougly composite refs directly into something that would work and set potential storys. A moment of the day in a particular and unusual place, to later work on the realism of it, to provoque a strange sensation, let peoples feel that this could be real.

I decided to go for an A-shaped cabin as the one designed by Utopia arkitekter, I found it visually more attractive, so here come some sketches with a raw sketchup model to test angle views, lighting and mood.

Borealis (Latin for northern or of the north), here comes some architectural reference material, my entry is inspired on the architecture by Zumthor, Snohetta, Utopia and chilean Smiljan Radic.
