Looking at Earths increase in population and need for alternative locations for shelters, the idea to create an environment that could support those needs was developed. The intent was to bring “home” like features to the shelter to create emotions that one would have when seeing and entering my childhood cabin. Cedar shingles are represented by a futuristic titanium shell that makes up the exterior. The interior brings warmth by using Earths natural materials such as wood and soft upholstery selections.

This is my final entry. I worked on this project during my free time, and it was a great learning experience. I had not yet worked with such a complex scene, which was a challenge since I knew I would have to deal with only 16GB of RAM during the whole process. In the challenge, I could still learn about 360 images, after all, these were my first.

I chose the Chapada dos Veadeiros, in Alto Paraíso de Goiás, Brazil, to locate the cabin. The Chapada dos Veadeiros National Park is located approximately 550km from Goiânia (the city where I live), and has recently undergone a large fire, which burned about 65,000 hectares of the nearly 250,000 that exist. The Park is of international importance, as it preserves a large part of the brazilian cerrado biome. So the choice serves as a kind of homage and great appreciation that I have for that beautiful place.

I hope you enjoy the final result, and good luck to all the participants.

I ended up changing the light and mood of my project a lot since i was traveling around scenic country sides which inspired me a brand new feel for storytelling. I discovered a sense of happiness in the midst of a brief moment in time which is just after a light snowfall or rain right at the dusk. This is what i tried to capture in my work here with the cabin entry.Hope you guys enjoy looking at it as much as i did 🙂 Looking forward to see amazing moments all of you created for the same..

Oh Dear! What a challenge. Thanks to the challenge I have found great tools such as Unreal Engine, Megascans Library and Quixel Suite. Just Wow. I am still learning but very excited for next challenge to improve. I wanted to capture the simplicity as well as a beauty of the Nature with the brutal beauty of the “human” materials.

Good news everyone! I have finally managed to connect my Unit to a new stable power source so that my XR projections don’t flicker that much anymore. Well, at least not that often as they used to.
Also, last week I found some old stylized HMD that looks very similar to one of those first VR googles from the early 2020s or so. Was it called Wive? Or Vive or something like that? Anyways, the good part is that this display is still compatible with my XR system, despite the vintage design. I guess it must have been some gentle strike of nostalgia that inspired another product designer. Or maybe it’s just a random pick of the manufacturing AI. Who knows?
Sadly, I guess the end is here and now. That’s it. I’ll leave a link to some of my XR views below. Maybe some of you can still check it out, even though it lives in this old-school thing called “the internet” (I know! Hard to believe it is still working). Give it a go: https://www.yulio.com/jL0qT1WWBO
Well, till next time then! On another platform, on another rooftop…
