After a short study of the museum, ideas start popping in your head, so its time to start bringing some of them into more tangible toughs by looking into web references.

Illumination, terrain and colors are some of the first concepts that I usually begin to search, so I can draw a general idea of the image I want to create.

When I studed plans I appreciated architecture and technical details of building (as roof and fasade). It was little tricky to model this project only from image blueprints. So I made a research on google for more images. After I finished basic modelling of buildings I started think what will be the best camera postions. I wanted to show the arch ceiling (roof). So I decided when my camera will be I created more details of building (only for camera angle to save time) such as windows, facade and terrain. Then I placed camera to desired location, where I could show arch celling.

I studied wood material and well.. it is complicated 🙂 It is very reflective in low view angles, while almost diffuse in normal direction. It is glossy with very low roughness. The most glossy part, catching light are where the wood texture gets intense. Until this part I tried to get it work in clean state.

Wood plates has a layer of dirt on top, I am not sure whether to implement that in texture or go on in Postproduction. I will try that later.

Meanwhile I try some moods for weather..

‘Every work of art is the mirror of another’ L.K.Nowak (1913)

My intention is to create an image of the museum through the concept of reflection.

Reflection (mirror) is a resource widely used in arts (painting, sculpture, film, music, etc …) on which I would like to develop in the challenge.
