A few images here to show the tone of voice and colour palette I’m aiming for with the final image…
I want to show the scene in something other than a winter setting – the autumn in Sweden is my favourite time of the year – lots of vivid colours and hazy sunshine will make for a nice visual.

Posting my WIP.
After modeling the building from the blueprints I started to make different test renders that went hand in hand with my concept. On the image below you can see different variations of the cameras, and the one that went out looking compositionally and atmospherically the best was the one in the middle.

I was fortunate enough to suddenly became aware that the material on the Museum is quite familiar to me. A few meters behind where I am sitting are my old school Technics speakers that have more – less the same black Plywood as on our building. That way I am able to understand the material better and see all the different angles of reflections that the materials such as Plywood make. Honestly, I like the Plywood in black color really much and will enjoy the next step of the project – texturing. Made some pictures of the speakers just to be able to see how it looks on the screen, and what are the best settings considering the photographic approach.
By the end of this week, I shall post some texturing updates.

Cheers.

I spent a lot of time thinking about what viewpoint I would like to illustrate. I got a photosphere from street view from Kalmar to get accurate lightning.
Next have spent about 3 hours or so on modeling first, which yielded a rough 3D draft. Then I spent about 1 hour to clean up all the windows to make them the right size. You spend about 20% on the rough modeling and 80% on getting the shot right. Since I am behind on the modeling, I got a material test render done which is what you are seeing above.
