From the beginning I had a vision of how the building would look. I wanted to go for a nice sunny day ( I know they are rare in Sweden) looking at the google street views, I saw nice bright sunny days. just had this one picture of the building which really helped me with the reflection on the glass. I tried many cameras for the final shot, but settled with this one. I have always made the main building stand alone, but this time i wanted it to be placed in such an image where it’s character could be compared to another building at close range. A sort of street view. To be honest I haven’t used any reference images for the shot besides the one I’m uploading.

Architecture is Frozen Music
This is one of the famous quote about architecture. This is one of the best quotes that can describe an architecture. As an architect and architectural visualiser i decided to entry for competition. When i saw this building i just felt this quote and my main focus was to make visualisation like this.

1st i just started to work on close shot composition and lighting with global material which windows are excluded. After using different HDRI maps and lot of test renders the clear one gave me a good feeling and i focused on this. Then i start searching for rusted facade textures and i found texture which i used this texture as reference for reflection, bump and roughness via changing it color balance etc. in Adobe Photoshop. Then i focused on environment texturing like ground, nearby buildings and after all that i added some trees and lights for the environment to create image like this.
After render in photoshopped i decided to put one person to represent frozen feeling in time as i mentioned early that Architecture is frozen music.
So this is my story as an architect and architectural visualiser which i am proud to share with you.Its great honor for me to enter to this competition.Good luck for everyone.

School´s out for summer! for Tomorrows competition in 2018.
As the model was provided, i could take more time to rxplore various photos trying to find some inspiration. And the biggisest one was right away on the competitions page.It was about composition and camera position, i´ve only tweaked it a bit moved up and donw, forward and left and of course according to golden ratio. Basic model got some basic materials, then i was trying different types of hdris, After all i sticked to fstorm´s native sun and sky which did tremendous job and it looked exactly as i wanted.. Then filling the scene with some models and finally materials. Since it was deadline and i did not have time to tweak them more. Then used basic colour correction and curves in PS along with chromatic aboration. And that´s it. Overall i am not very proud on the materials – lots of space to improve, but i am quite happy with the lightning and the mood.

I aimed for procedural and very structural shader which will contain as much material information as possible. I decided to use 2 tilable bitmaps for base texture, and all other small and big details of glossy parts, oxidized areas and burnt out areas were achieved procedurally via noise maps, composite materials and variations of materials.

I also did some work on ground textures.

Next step will be color balancing them all together, adding lively assets and going for final render!

now I made a test render .
I used a clear sky to concentrate on the building as I mentioned before.
I didn’t decide yet which style should I go for the blue or the gray one .

I will post the gray style shot in a different post because for some reason i can’t upload multiple jpeg.
but I guess it will be the blue sky after all.
