CABINS entry by thawk127

The location is somewhere on the west coast of Vancouver Island. The goal is to maintain harmony between the cabin and environment. As of now I’m leaning towards a concrete residence with accents of wood planks. I also plan to incorporate large Marvin windows, green roofing and indoor vertical gardens.

My cabin entry will be located in the Louisianan bayous. Surrounded by beautiful Cyprus and Tupelo trees covered in Spanish moss, sitting in the dark murky waters of the swamp. The idea of a beautiful modern cabin nestled back in the trees is very exciting to me. These are the beginning of my collection of reference images for location and overall feel.

the main idea is to create a cabin that will integrate with its natural environment and that will interact with him by the choice of materials and architecture, the chosen composition will be divided into three parts, the foreground that will be of dense vegetation , the second shots will consist of the cabin and trees and the background of mountain and lake, these three plans will be structured by a forest track that will link them and add depth to image. I have not yet chosen the cabin model may be that I will move towards a reinterpretation of an existing project, more on his soon.

I want this cabin to feel like it really belongs to the coastline, I want to capture that Brighton spirit through the use of metal which links strongly to the pier and old pier. Lots of pubs and service industry restaurants are finished with mirror glazed bricks which are very idiosyncratic to London/south coast pubs/tube stations. Flint has been used historically around the South coast for hundreds of years and i’d love to capture a bit of that history and character that those buildings hold. I’m also falling in love with the combination of brick, flint and metal, it gives a really industrial, textural and structural feel to a building. Finally, the chalk cliffs of the South coast are famous across the world (white cliffs of dover). These cliffs are really going to ground this concept and define the character and materials used.

The disc cabin / or cabins will be located on the rocky cliff valley. The glass disk form gives the cabin the opportunity to have a panoramic view of the stunning environment. And guess what! The disks are turning too!

The cabin can either have a view of the open breathtaking environment or turn the disk and have little privacy and see the mystic rock formations inside the mountain…

Hopefully 😀
