After photoshopping my images I decided to show my friends and give them the chance to vote for the best one.(more minds are better than one!) In the end the winner was my initial idea – even if they all loved both. Good luck all!
Here is the raw render of my two options with props added. Still going to do a few more adjustments before going to the last part: photoshop.
I still don’t know which one Im going for at the end – I wish we could submit more than one… I’m falling in love with both! So I have decided to finished both, submit one and keep the other for my portifolio. 🙂
I have started with the materials, next I’m going to focus on props.
During my work I came across a new interesting angle I liked. I think you should always be open to change, so I decided to work on both angles and choose my favorite to submit in the end.
Chose my camera and started testing lights. I added some street lamp and a drain on the floor, made improvements on the pipes (they were going inside the floor) and modelled the base of the brick building.
I started by taking a walk around the provided model as someone would if they were walking around the real building. As I went around it I realized that, because of the close proximity with the buildings around it, it created a sort of “alley” feel, with one side the modern building and the other the historical ones. With that in mind i started looking for references of alleys when I realized I could mix that alley feel with the fact that this challange is happening during the late deceber holidays, that inpired me to create this “after” christmas theme, with a gray morning look.
