Ramon Zancanaro mentions in his latest forum thread that he’s been “far from the 3d by long time…”, and I ask – Where Were You??? I would like to go too!!! Just glancing over his latest renders tells us it was a good place to be. This scene was intended as a cloth study, and a remarkable one in turned out.
Here’s a remarkable little Déjà vu for you… Last year started with a spotlight on Bertrand Benoit’s Tribeca Loft, and today he posts his new Chicago Loft images on the forums! Perfect timing & execution as you would expect of him. Last month Bertrand released the Chicago Loft scene for sale on Turbosquid in clean form so that you can populate it with your own models, serving as a showcase set – His current set of images is a great example of how this could be done.
Graticule House by David Jameson Architects is an exemplar for the “isolated house in the woods” scenario. Interestingly articulated using a simple orthogonal design vocabulary, this house offer many great framed vantage points towards the woods and from the woods back at it. There are many photos to explore in this set offering great reference for how such a house could look both day and night, in and out. You should also check out Bertrand Benoit’s 3d recreation of Graticule House.
The results of the 2011 Lumion Competition were announced today, an boy what amazing things can be done with this tool! It really makes me rethink the way I work today, and I have a lot to learn about it (and look forward too). I think the movie that came out in third place is the best among them all maybe its the strong architectural design that fits my taste so precisely.
Ludvík Koutný showcases a remarkable set of renders, recreating Louis Kahn’s Esherick House in 3D using Mental Ray as his render engine. We don’t see too many Architectural Visualizations that good done with Mental Ray… And this house design by Louis Kahn is new too me so I’m grateful for it for this reason too.
How many times do you get to visualize a project designed by a world leading architecture firm for a world leading company? I wish I could have been on the team doing the new “Mothership” – Apple’s new campus in Cupertino designed by Foster + Partner. Steve Jobs says the groundbreaking for this magnificent flying-saucer-like edifice is planned for next year, with completion scheduled for 2015. What do you think of it – Design & Visuals?
