Nguy?n Ng?c Lu?n, modeling leader at VietCG Team shared his amazing latest work – “The Fish Market” on the forums today, and it is delightfully Yammy! This is CG MESS at its finest, remarkably capturing the look & feel of the fish market after hours with great attention to details.
Expanded life is the brainchild of Israeli Architect & Designer friend of mine – Israel Yaniv. The idea came to him in his sleep while dreaming about expanded metal meshes… those being used for reinforcement of plaster or for the cladding of buildings (An architects dream – go figure). It took him 3 years to translate that dream of a mesh world into the first small expanded life creatures you’ll see here. I was completely fascinated by these little buggers and the process of making them, which references traditional crafts such as the anatomy pop-up books that first appeared in the 14th century and Japanese Kirigami (a variation of Origami) while leveraging advanced technology in manipulating metal – taking a 2d cleverly cutted out shape and manually expanding it to LIFE!
Concrete is great! you know I think so by now, and when I stumbled upon the work of German based freelance photographer/artist Florian Müller I had to share it with you. Below you’ll find 3 photo sets of concrete buildings he took photos of, most interesting being the church “Johannes XIII” by Josef Rikus.
432 Park Avenue, NYC’s soon to be the tallest residential tower (also in the western hemisphere) just hit the 50% milestone in last month, reaching a height of 700 feet. Emmy-award-winning branding and creative agency DBOX is in charge of branding and creative for this project designed by architect Rafael Viñoly, and you should have a look at it if you didn’t already. Where can you see the film they made for it you ask? well… that is truly a million-dollar question!
Italian Architect and Illustrator Federico Babina amazes me with this fantastic set of 2d elevation drawings of buildings inspired by iconic works from artists like Piet Mondrian, Richard Serra, Andy Warhol, Picasso, Roy Lichtenstein and more totaling 27 such drawings.
