The Museum Lumion Challenge Finalists

The Museum Lumion Challenge has ended recently and I am very proud to present the results of the finalists of this special Architectural Visualization Challenge dedicated specifically to the use of the Real-time 3D Visualization Design & Presentation Tool – Lumion, featuring the Neue National Gallery. I enjoyed this event very much, even more so due to the introduction of animation to the mix with the help of Lumion. Go ahead and have a closer look at the submitted animations as the Jury finalizes the decision-making process.

One more house by OAB. A Carlos Ferrater interesting 7×7 geometric grid with a twist house design featuring diagonal pitched roofs acting as skylights and doubling the heights of the various rooms. Very cool seeing the house exterior both in snow and vibrant green / blue dusk shot, as well as the various interior day time reference shots.

Making of Seaside Feeling

I like architectural designs & visualizations with water in them. Make it seaside and I absolutely LOVE it – but then, who doesn’t? That’s why it didn’t take me long to reach Pedro Fernandes and ask him about how he made the “Seaside Feeling” image you see here, up above. Pedro has freelance experience in really interesting companies such as Vyonyx, Crystal CG and F10 Studios. He’s portfolio showcase both full 3d scene resulting images as well as dominantly matte-painted works, so it is interesting to learn how he goes about creating an image. Enjoy!

Black Friday to Cyber Monday

Each year, the day after Thanksgiving in the united states kick-starts the Christmas shopping season. This Friday is Black Friday. Doesn’t sound that good you might say… well, it is said the name originated from the heavy pedestrian and vehicle traffic occurring on the day after Thanksgiving – coloring the streets black. Later an alternative explanation suggested that this day marked the transition to profit and thus starting to write numbers in the books with black ink instead of negative red. Which ever way it was – It is a chance for you to get good deals… And this is exactly what I will try to gather for you here!

Toy Boats

Had to take some time off blog & work these days, but there is always room for sights of beautiful places on the world we live in. This time going down under with Nathan Kaso who made this wonderful short tilt-shift time-lapse video of the ‘Toy Boats’ in Sydney, Australia. Shot over a 3 day span, the tilt-shift effect was done in Photoshop.
