Render Challenge Heading Your Way!
I tweeted about a “Render Engine” license up for grabs a few days ago and I can share a little more now about the way to win it. I’m about to launch an architectural visualization rendering challenge soon, I’m still working on the small details but first prize will include a VRay or Maxwell Render license.
Amazing Colorama Makeover Tilt-Shift Time-Lapse
I just love Tilt-Shift images and videos. there is something very magical about the simple blur / out of focus change that transforms a real life image to something resembling a scale model, but I’ve never seen an actual combo of both worlds mixed into one like in this amazing spot by UpperFirst Read more →
Dolomites House / JM Architecture
While working on a client project, looking for inspiration, I dug up this great house by JM Architecture. The Dolomites House is a great example of ‘White Supremacy’ interior with light yellowish wood floor and hidden lights spread all over to accent the design – exactly what I’m trying to recreate for my project. This house has been an inspiration to Bertrandb and hcpiter too. Each one of them has created a remarkable set of renders based on this house.
Tsai residence / HHF Architects + Ai Weiwei
A Container like house from the outside, situated solely in the landscape at Ancram, New York, USA. Some great mixed landscape and house images, both day and dusk, and lovely interior images showcasing the use of white plaster, wood and brick.
Sieben Residence / Oomen Architects
A nice set of “White Supremacy” interior images, this time with a good contrast dark wood flooring. Some interesting camera angles and tall image proportions I’ve not seen many to use… might be handy depending on the design, work rather well in this case. I also really love the exterior shot taken under the pathway ceiling looking out towards the pool, very good balance and mix of materials to learn from.
8 Amazing Matte Painting Videos by Gordon Tarpley
I recently joined the CG Architecture group over at flickr, and this gorgeous image catched my attention today. The great thing about it and other images by Gordon Tarpley is that he kindly composed the process of his work from initial rendering to final image. These videos are very inspirational and are a rich source of information about how to postwork a render and add people, vegetation and amend it in many ways to achieve the desired and result.
