PREFAB Desert House by Marmol Radziner
I have a soft spot for PREFAB residential designs and this one by Marmol Radziner sure is a nice one. Designed for Leo Marmol and his wife Alisa Becket, the Desert House, Located on a five-acre site in Desert Hot Springs, California, employs four house modules and six deck modules. Sheltered living spaces blend the indoors with the outdoors, simultaneously extending and connecting the house to the north wing, which holds a guest house and studio space. Great reference for how a small architectural metallic subject looks in a desert environment.

DesignConnected Submitted Image Winner / Tiziano Nespoli
Congratulations to Tiziano Nespoli for winning the second stage of the DesignConnected vouchers giveaway! During this month’s giveaway the first two winners were randomly selected from all who commented in the original DesignConnected voucher giveaway post. Tiziano’s interior setup, showcasing the Freeman Sofa System by Meridiani, was very well done, with splashes of light and subtle reflection that enhance the material and form very well. Wadi Rum Desert Lodges Visuals by LUXIGON
Seeing new work by LUXIGON is always interesting, and their latest work for architect Chad Oppenheim truly amazed me. They produced a series of architectural visuals for the Wadi Rum Desert Lodges Resort in Jordan, an hour and a half outside of Petra. LUXIGON managed to inject a massive amount of emotive qualities into these images, aided greatly by the unique and isolated desert context. I’ve attached a PDF with information about the project and a set of images provided by LUXIGON.
‘The Mountain’ Amazing Video
It’s holiday time here and I’m taking it slow doing some blog & forums upgrades, as well as some personal 3d stuff. You probably noticed some forum downtime last night, and I shared an amazing video via twitter & Facebook to make for a nicer waiting until it was back up… well, it’s to good to not feature here too. “The Mountain” by Terje Sorgjerd was filmed this April showcasing what an amazing world we are all privileged to live on! let’s keep it that way.
