In their continuous effort to make the use of RailClone as easy as possible, Long time blog & challenges sponsor, iToo Software, created a new short how-to tutorial as follow-up to their previous RailClone Parametric Shelving video showing now how to add randomized books using RailClone.
Here’s the follow-up to Thiago Lima‘s Making of Butterfly House / Part 1. In this article Thiago will cover the rendering and post-production (stills and short film) as well as focus on some of the bigger challenges he had to deal with during his work and how he solved them. Enjoy!
This backstage video, showing PhotoWork at work, is a great find by Juraj Talcik and a must watch for anyone interested in interior visualization, so I plug this one here too. It shows how much really goes into making a photo in terms of building the stage, styling, lighting, compositing, etc. I’m not so sure about Juraj’s comment on his FB page that pure digital is still off in terms of quality compared to this. It is just one example, and the result here looks a bit CG to me after all the post-work done on it. I’m not at all sure about things ever being PURE digital… the IKEA case study clearly shows an advantage of mixing CG + Real Elements for that final ultimate Photo Real look.
Thiago Lima‘s “Butterfly – the book and short film” project is a remarkable undertaking. One that awarded him Best Visualization of the Week NO. 12 and lots of respect from our community. The concept of the Butterfly is rooted in his childhood painting play with symmetry and the desire to create something different in terms of subject matter for an architectural visualization project acting as a staging ground for developing and perfecting his skills further. Join him in this first part as he describes this undertaking from concept through 3d modeling, texturing, lighting and camera selections. In part 2 which will be posted soon, Thiago will cover the rendering and post-production (stills and short film) as well as focus on some of the bigger challenges he had to deal with during his work and how he solved them. Enjoy!
Thiago Lima will feature a full-fledged making-of article here soon, but until then I invite you to take a look at this fast paced video recording of the making process of his recent Hostel MondoCúbico project. A lot is going on in the 8+ minutes of the video, but the music is great and so is the view. It is really inspiring seeing it this way. Enjoy!
