I decided to start reasoning about this challenge by letting myself think of a place where I would like to take refuge and find shelter from my actual life, a sort of ideal place where to escape…

A few words came up to me, even before becoming a clear picture, and they where:

shelter
light
rain
warmth
inside/out
child

Then I started sketching, without a clear idea on my mind, and several pictures came to me, all very much related to my childhood and to my dreams of living in the nature, far from the city, close to natural elements such as: mountains forest, water.

Sometimes it felt like this project had to become a house on a cliff, sometimes in the clouds, some others by the water… in the end it turned out that I felt comfortable with the idea of a little stilt house at the side of a big lake, surrounded by the mountains, with high pine trees and a beautiful view to the water there where the mountains seem to move aside to show the line of the horizon, at the end of the world.
